Finding the right fit
A personal process for every dog
Adopting an adult can be different from bringing home a puppy. We want families to understand the dog in front of them and have room to ask honest questions.
- 1
Read the profile
Start with the dog’s known traits, needs, and home preferences.
- 2
Talk with Heartland
Tell us about your household, routine, other pets, and what you hope to find.
- 3
Plan the transition
If the match feels right, we will discuss the next steps and what the dog needs to settle in.
