Using this website
These Terms and Conditions apply to use of this website. If you do not agree with them, do not submit a form or rely on the website when making a decision. The website provides general information about Heartland Dachshunds, its dogs, anticipated litters, adoption process, pricing, and policies.
Heartland works to keep the website accurate and current, but information may be corrected, removed, or changed at any time. Website content is not a promise that a particular dog, litter, price, date, or service will remain available.
The website and its forms are intended for adults. A person under 18 should have a parent or legal guardian contact Heartland.
Applications and reservations
Submitting an application or contact form begins a conversation. It does not approve an applicant, create a reservation, place a dog on hold, or require Heartland to complete a sale.
A puppy is reserved only after Heartland approves the family, confirms the individual puppy and terms, and confirms receipt of any required reservation deposit. Heartland may lawfully decline an application or placement when it reasonably believes the placement would not be appropriate for the dog or family.
Availability and pricing
Dog availability, planned pairings, expected dates, traits, photographs, prices, taxes, and delivery arrangements may change. Colors, patterns, coat types, size, temperament, and future breeding qualities cannot be guaranteed from a photograph or early description.
Heartland will confirm the current availability and total price before accepting a reservation or completing a sale. An accidental website error does not require Heartland to sell a dog at an incorrect price or under incorrect terms.
The signed sales contract controls the purchase
These website terms do not replace the written sales contract for a puppy or dog. The final signed sales contract contains the terms of the actual purchase, including ownership, health provisions, registration, breeding rights when applicable, pickup, and return or rehoming responsibilities.
If the website, an email, or these Terms and Conditions conflict with the signed sales contract, the signed sales contract controls the purchase.
Deposits, cancellations, and refunds
Heartland’s current deposit, cancellation, refund, payment, pickup, and upcoming-litter practices are described on the Pricing & Policies page. The terms confirmed for an individual placement and included in the signed sales contract control that transaction.
Please ask questions before sending a deposit or signing a contract.
The website does not itself process payments. Do not send a payment-card number, bank-account password, Social Security number, or other financial credential through a public website form.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, submit false or unlawful information, impersonate another person, introduce malicious code, or use automated tools to copy personal information, photographs, dog profiles, or substantial portions of the website. Ordinary search-engine indexing and sharing a normal website link are permitted.
Website copy and photographs
Unless otherwise identified, the website’s written content, design, logos, graphics, and photographs belong to Heartland Dachshunds or are used with permission. They may be viewed and shared through ordinary links for personal, noncommercial purposes.
Do not copy, republish, sell, alter, remove ownership marks from, or use website copy or photographs to advertise another animal or business without written permission from Heartland or the applicable owner.
External links
The website may link to Facebook, government resources, veterinarians, registries, payment services, or other outside websites for convenience. Heartland does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, products, or privacy practices. A link does not necessarily mean Heartland endorses everything on the outside website.
Reasonable limits
The website is provided on an “as available” basis for general informational purposes. It is not veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice. Families should consult an appropriate professional about their own circumstances and a veterinarian about an animal’s health or care.
To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, Heartland is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses caused by reasonable reliance on website information, temporary website unavailability, an outside website, or unauthorized access beyond Heartland’s reasonable control.
These limits do not exclude responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, obligations in a signed sales contract, or any consumer right or other responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Illinois law and changes to these terms
These website terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If one part is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
Heartland may update these terms as the website or business changes. The updated date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Revised terms apply prospectively to later website use and do not replace or retroactively change a signed sales contract.
A failure to enforce one provision on one occasion is not a permanent waiver of that provision. These terms govern the website only; the signed sales contract is the complete agreement for an individual puppy or dog purchase.
